Blood Brothers Concert 2016

1 stage, 2 drum kits, 4 guitars, 4 microphones and 10 musicians. These are the makings of the musical super group called Blood Brothers. A South African first.

On the 9th September 2016, Blood Brothers united for another 3-hour concert at Carnival City Big Top Arena. The super group was formed in 2015 with the objective of raising funds for the Vrede Foundation. A foundation that helps to care for young South Africans fighting against cancer.

The Blood Brothers Concert Line Up

Hundreds of eager music fans filled the Big Top Arena on the night to experience the best local talent South Africa has to offer. The line-up included artists such as Francois van Coke, Zolani Mahola (Freshly Ground), Albert Frost, George van der Spuy (Taxi Violence) and Kobus de Kock Jnr (Black Cat Bones).
The diversity of musical talent displayed was nothing short of genius. The band performed an array of local and international hits, switching between vocalists, drummers, and guitarists throughout the concert.

Using Music as a Tool for to Make a Difference

For decades, music has been used as a tool to make a difference. It’s synonymous with uniting people together for a common cause. The Blood Brothers concert was no different.

Through the support of sponsors and fans, the concert was able to raise awareness for the Vrede Foundation. From a cancer awareness perspective, the concert was a great success in making a difference to the Foundation and their cause.
