Event Management Trends 2017

Trend-watching can often be overlooked and undervalued. That’s because of the vast quantity of trend related content that is available. Event management is no different.

In our industry, we can’t afford to have this approach. Event management is changing at a rapid rate, with attendees expecting more at the events they’re invited to. We’ve been watching predicted event management trends unfold in 2016, and have decided to make our own list for 2017.

1. Event Management and Customisation

With the barrage of choice that consumers have available to them – They are becoming more focused on the finer details. Personalised experiences and customisation will continue to play an integral role in event management throughout 2017.

Customisation can include personalized event invites, tailoring thank you gifts to customizing the entire experience for each guest. This has, in essence, become easier due to the information available on social media. If you know that Joe Soap is an avid craft beer drinker, factor in a selection of craft beers for him to enjoy.

2. The Use of Data and Event Management Intelligence

The rise of tech will continue to have an enormous impact on the event management industry. Harvesting consumer data and channeling it to databases has never been easier.

However, we predict seeing an improvement in the way companies use this data to improve customer experience and convert leads more effectively.

3. Engaging with Consumers at Events

Technology has enabled event organisers of large events to make each and every delegate to feel attended to and catered for, as if they were at a private function of 15 guests.

Customised event applications are soon to be a must. These help to communicate directly with attendees in terms of feedback, comment, and participation. Check out the top event apps of 2016 here.
